IC Design CAD Engineer

As a Ferric IC Design CAD Engineer, you will be part of a fast-paced and motivated team working on cutting edge integrated voltage regulators. Your primary responsibilities will be to enable to the IC design team by maintaining and optimizing the CAD infrastructure, providing Unix/Linux support, and development testing of new tools and design flows.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Linux system administration

    • Setting up, maintaining, and improving Redhat Linux infrastructure and CAD environment

    • Setting up, maintaining, and upgrading server and workstation hardware

    • Performing manual data backups and developing automated backup solutions

    • Improving disk space management through software and hardware upgrades

    • Managing LDAP server/accounts and file/directory permissions

    • Maintaining and improving remote access solutions (Nomachine and VNC)

  • EDA tools

    • Installing, debugging, and upgrading EDA software

    • Developing, implementing, and testing design flows

    • Maintaining and upgrading revision control infrastructure (Cliosoft SOS7, Git)

    • Managing EDA license files and license servers (FlexLM)

  • PDK support

    • Installing, maintaining, and updating PDKs and 3rd party IP libraries

    • Creating and verifying custom DRC/LVS decks

  • Network and Site security

    • Improving network performance and security through software and hardware upgrades

    • Enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access

    • Maintaining VPN and firewall

    • Maintaining physical security of computing resources

  • Scripting

    • Writing scripts to help automate redundant tasks that are part of a typical IC design flow

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in IC design CAD support

  • Experience supporting a linux cluster with > 20 on-site users and > 10 off-site users

  • Expert knowledge of RHEL6 and RHEL7 operating systems

  • Experience managing an LDAP server

  • Extensive experience with tools from major EDA companies such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, MathWorks, Cliosoft, Ansys, etc

  • Experience with PDK and reference design flows from major foundries (TSMC, Global Foundries, etc)

  • Experience with processes ranging from 180nm down to 7nm

  • Experience assembling, building and configuring network hardware

  • Experience implementing user access controls (ABAC, RBAC, DAC, MAC)

  • Experience maintaining a firewall environment in line with standard IT security policies

  • Proficiency scripting in Unix shell, Tcl, Python, Perl, Cadence Skill
