Component Design Engineer

As a Ferric Component Design Engineer, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on all aspects of cutting-edge integrated voltage regulators. Your primary responsibilities will be research and development related to the continual improvement of Ferric’s integrated magnetics technology, and working with our IC design teams to integrate new magnetic devices into power converter ICs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze integrated inductors: run finite-element analysis simulations and create compact models for different inductor designs

  • Develop scripts to automate design analysis

  • Layout integrated inductors

  • Work with IC designers on power and signal integrity analyses of new power converter designs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with planar magnetics design; experience with power converter circuits and CMOS design is a big plus

  • Understanding of RF component design and S-parameters

  • Proficiency with Python and Matlab; Skill and Tcl experience are not necessary but are a plus

  • Experience with standard electromagnetic FEA packages

  • Experience with tools from major EDA companies such as Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics, MathWorks, Cliosoft

  • Experience working with PDKs in process nodes from TSMC 130nm down to 7nm

  • Strong understanding of computer systems and the Redhat Linux operating system is a plus
